And when we hear about it, we say "how sad" or "poor child" and then go on with our lives. Unfortunately for the child, she can't simply forget about it. Her scars and suffering will remain with her forever. Don't be saddened by this piece. It is meant to inspire us to do more. All the child wants is that you be aware of her suffering and help her.
