WIN A SYDNEY CASH PAINTING AT TRIBECA FINE ART GALLERY
Tribeca Fine Art Gallery is exhibiting the paintings of Sydney Cash. Cash is most known in the sculpture world, and these paintings have been created from a sculptor's perspective as an exploration of light and form. They capture the shadows and shapes of physical events, and often have a scientific sensibility. They are related to photography both in tonality and in style of rendering. Their scale is intimate, from 8" x 6", to as large as 37" x 27".
The gallery is offering the public an opportunity to win a painting from the Cash exhibition. Exhibition visitors can complete an entry form, and select a painting they would like to win. On the last day of the exhibition if a participant's entry is picked in the lottery, and their painting of choice has not been sold, the painting will be awarded. If the painting has been sold, the winner will be able to choose from at least four other paintings.
For those who are unable to see the exhibition in-person, it can also be viewed at www.sydneycash.com . Lottery entries can also be submitted on-line at this Web site.
Cash's work is found in collections worldwide, including MoMA in NYC, and Le Musee des Arts Decoratifs in Paris. In 2001, the Yeshiva University Museum in New York City mounted a retrospective of his work, and in the same year, a commissioned sculpture was permanently installed in the New York City Metropolitan Transit Authority's Queensborough Plaza subway station. In addition, Cash has been the recipient of a Fellissimo Design Award, and fellowships from the National Endowment for the Arts and the New York Foundation for the Arts. He was recently commissioned to design a collection of Optical Vases for MoMA's design stores.
This exhibition runs until June 14th. For more information, contact Sydney Cash at 845-236-7032
